Expert: Over half of Russians find personal data in open access

MOSCOW, Jun 25 (PRIME) -- More than half of the Russians have found their personal data on the Internet at least once, according to a research conducted by antivirus maker ESET seen by PRIME on Friday.

“More than half of the Russians, or 59%, have uncovered personal information in open access. Mobile phone numbers and e-mails are found in such bases more often, in 70% of cases. In fewer cases, citizens see their home address, different passwords, and personal phones – from 11 to 13% of cases,” ESET said.

After leaks, people become victims of fraudsters and unwanted calls – 44% of the respondents said they started getting calls from unknown numbers and 47% received more spam in e-mail.
